Rahul Could Tell Something Was Hidden There
Rahul stayed behind the trees and kept his distance. He knew better than to approach a distressed elephant, especially one that seemed so focused on a single spot. The elephant struck the ground again, harder this time. The sound carried through the forest like a warning. She stepped closer to the same place and hit the soil again. Rahul slowly lifted his camera and zoomed in.

The earth was already uneven and loose, which meant she had probably been doing this for a long time. What worried Rahul most was not only the digging, but the way she ignored everything else. She was not eating, scanning the area, or reacting normally to the sounds around her. Her entire attention was fixed on the ground. Rahul shifted slightly to get a better view, and the elephant suddenly froze. Her head lifted, her ears spread wide, and a low warning rumble moved through the air. Rahul immediately stepped back. Whatever was happening, getting any closer alone would be dangerous.
